Limecrime Eyeliners

Recently I purchased 3 of Limecrime's liquid eyeliners, and have been loving them! So much that I decided to finally update my blog :) I have been experimenting with them & doing some crazy looks- and end up actually getting a lot of comments! I'm not one to care much what is in style and what not (i basically just do whatever i feel looks cool) so I have been using my white & baby blue eyeliner like crazy! It's not something you see every day! Here are a few looks I have done.

In the above pic.. I have white, black, and gold. I ended up not liking the gold and sent it back, and got the black one instead :) the gold was not opaque enough for me.

"Blue Milk" by Limecrime on my bare eyelid.

"Quill" by Limecrime over top of various colors from the Naked 3 Palette :)

For this look, I used my white eyeliner "Lunar Sea" and then took my BhCosmetics palette (Take Me To Brazil) and put eyeshadow over top of it :) I really loved this look, and I do just wear the white alone too.

All in all, the price of these eyeliners are kind of pricey for me, but they are 100% worth it to me. I fell in love with the brush and the way they apply. It is soon easy to make a winged eyeliner with these, I LOVE IT! All of the colors dry matte, and stay on perfectly for a very long time. The only negative thing I can say is that they are not waterproof, and once you use a makeup wipe with the black eyeliner, it is EVERYWHERE! It smears and isn't as easy to get off as I would have thought- but it honestly does not bother me much. There are SO many different looks you can get with these, I don't think I will ever get tired of them! On top of all that, the packaging is so adorable! I am really loving their products!

The Perks of Being A Wallflower♥ -Accepting The Love We Think We Deserve

Yes, the movie came out in 2012, some consider it old news. But I think this movie deserves to be talked about, forever. If you have not got the chance to see it yet, PLEASE DO. If you have not seen it or read it, do not continue reading this because I'm about to spoil it for you. I read the book a few years ago, but when I saw the movie I fell in love. I am not the biggest fan of reading, I love visuals. But I recommend both. I love the journal style the book is written in.

The emotions I go through while watching this movie is crazy... and it gets me every time, I always end up crying no matter how many times I've seen it. Tears of happiness, tears of sadness, everything.  It's like one of those life changing movies, the kind that make you think about your own life. Maybe I take movies too seriously.. lol. I remember going to see the movie in theatre, not really thinking about it and coming out speechless, with blood red eyes from crying. I honestly wanted to break out into a full out ugly sob in the theatre but had to control myself.

The quote "We accept the love we think we deserve" is so powerful to me. And it just makes so much sense. Charlie is trying to decide why people in his life are choosing the wrong people to love. His sister Candice is with a guy who hurts her, the girl he loves has chosen to date a guy who couldn't care less about her, and his Aunt Helen also dated guys who were abusive towards her. Maybe this even had something to do with his best friend committing suicide. We accept the love we think we deserve. To take that quote, and think about it in your own life & with the people around you, is mind changing. I've had friends in the past tell me their horrible stories, and I would give them so much advice and tell them to just leave them, but they would always blame themselves and stay. I think a lot of us go through that. With their friends lives and with themselves. It seems so easy.. If someone isn't treating you right, let them go right? You can tell them to leave, give them hours of advice, and in the end.. It's always just going to be something they have to battle with themselves.

Even in my own life, looking back at stupid middle and early high school relationships, this quote pertains to me. Teenage girls and self esteem. They just don't go together. Everything is so new. I can definitely say my early relationships weren't no Disney movie. I let things happen to me, that are so ridiculous. Why? We accept the love we think we deserve. I stayed in a disgusting relationship, because I didn't know any better. I didn't think I could get any better. I didn't know I deserved better... I mean, I'm not that special right? A lot of stay with people, that treat us like crap... cheat on us.. don't care about us for anything but their own needs... and maybe even hurt us. If you are reading this, and you're with someone you're not happy with... Think about this quote. We accept the love we think we deserve. And you deserve a lot. You deserve the best. You deserve to be treated like a queen (or a king?) You may have done things in the past you aren't proud of. We all have that. But that doesn't mean you deserve a scumbag of a boyfriend (or girlfriend). You DO NOT deserve to be cheated on or hurt. No mater what they tell you. If you get anything from this.. Remember you deserve better. If someone you love is dealing with this. Be there for them. The worst thing you can do is leave them on their own with no one to be there for them. They need you. It may feel they aren't listening to your advice, but deep down they are confused. Help them, don't be forceful, just be there for them.

Charlie is very confused by love. I did not get this from the book, but in the movie clues point to the fact that Charlie was molested as a child by his aunt. It keeps showing the flashbacks of his aunt before she had died throughout the movie. When Sam is about to go away to college, Charlie finally decides to confess his love for her. And at this part he starts to think about his aunt and what has been done to him, a lot more. This part always gets me.

When she touches his thigh as they are kissing, it brings back the memories of what his aunt had done to him.  And at this point it is showing Sam caressing his thigh, and then the flashbacks on his aunt touching his thigh and telling him to keep quiet-and it really messes him up. You can tell how confused he is by the molestation. You always assume it's a dad or male figure that is always responsible for these kind of acts, and this just shows you that boys can be affected by this to, which really opened my mind up. People in this world are hurt. Everyone has their own battles. Charlie is battling that the entire movie. It makes me think of people I know in this world, everyone has secrets... People around me could be dealing with the same thing. This is a messed up world. A goddamn filthy world (props to you if you know what that line is from)

When Sam does leave for college along with her brother, he claims that he is doing bad again. He is seeing things again, having the visions of his aunt. Nobody knows what she has done to him. The part where Charlie calls Candice and starts talking about his aunt, made me go through even more emotions. He starts to ask her, "I killed her, right? She died getting my birthday present so I killed her? Well what if I wanted her to die?" He ends up in a hospital, getting help and finally lets his parents know what had happened to him as a kid. Things get better for Charlie now that he has opened up, but it's still a struggle.

I love this movie so much. My favorite movie of all time. It's real. It's not the basic movie where everything in the end ends perfectly, and we all live happily forever after. Life is a battle. Getting over things is a battle. Life is hard work. Bad things happen. This movie shows that. In the end, his friends that he have made come back from college, and they are happily reunited which is a moment that makes me cry of happiness (See all kinds of emotions!) I love how the movie ends especially. Sam tells Charlie that she has found the tunnel song (like I said, if you haven't seen it, you have to see it to know what I'm talking about) and they decide to go for a car ride. This time, Charlie is in the back and as they play the song, he stands up like Sam had done in the beginning and just looks so happy. To me, that is like he is just letting go. Forgetting everything for the moment. It's an amazing ending.

" I know these will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. We'll all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now these moments are not stories. This is happening. I am here and I am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive, and you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you're listening to that song and that drive with the people you love most in this world. And in this moment I swear, we are infinite."

Kat Von D's Lock-It Powder Foundation Review (BEFORE & AFTER PICTURES)

Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation
Kat Von D has been one of my idols growing up, so when I heard she had a makeup line I was dying to get something. Finally, I had the money to splurge a little at Sephora.  I had my mind set on her regular liquid foundation because I have heard so many good things about it, but at the last minute went with the powder. I read that this powder is supposed to be medium to full coverage… but I had a very hard time believing that at first. My experience in the past with powders have not been good. With other powder foundations I have tried, I have never really liked the finish. The coverage is always basically nothing, and you can always tell you have powder on.. plus it comes off in what feels like 10 minutes, or once you touch your face.

I honestly just expected it to be as more of a setting powder (which you can use it for too if you want a FULL FULL coverage). I gave it a go alone the other day… and it really surprised me! The coverage is AMAZING, just as claimed. The powder is so fine and velvety, it gives the most amazing finish I have ever gotten with any foundation, and to top it off, it feels like I have nothing on my face. I am obsessed! I am used to liquid drug store foundations which I am really growing to not like. I just hate the feeling of it on my face, no matter what kind, it always feels so cakey and sticky. So, I am so relieved to finally try something that looks amazing, feels amazing, and lasts.

They claim this is a 24-hour powder which sounds a bit extreme but it does last so long-it is crazy, I don't know how they do it. The powder comes in 17 different shades. I got it in the lightest shade possible, Light 44.
The packaging I think is what really drew me in. All of her products have a distinct, beautiful design to them. I honestly can't wait to get more things from her line! If you have tried this, or any of her other products.. Let me know what you think! :)

Dramatic Rose-Gold Smokey Eye

My first blog post! Woooo! Before I begin, I just want to say that I am in no way saying I am a professional makeup artist or anything, I just like to play around and experiment with different eye looks. Although most would consider this a crazy dramatic look only for nightclubs or special events, I wear these kind of looks any time I want. Maybe I'm weird.. *shrugs* I'm about to wear this look out to the mall. I don't understand why people have to classify certain makeup looks as daytime, nighttime, winter, summer, blah blah blah... I think you should wear whatever you want, whenever. If you want to wear a look like this to school.. go for it- If you want to wear this to the grocery store.. go for it. I don't see why makeup looks have to be too "crazy" too wear certain places. I can almost guarantee you when you go somewhere, nobody is thinking "Wow, her makeup is a little too extreme for here.." Hahaha. Okay, now that I'm done rambling about that, I will talk about the makeup.

Since I got my Naked 3 palette a week ago, I have been playing around with it every day and trying out some new things. For this certain look, I used Nooner, Mugshot, & Darkside. The picture doesn't do this palette justice, it is so beautiful in person, you have to see it for yourself.

Things used for my eyes:
-Naked 3 Palette
-Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner in Blackest Black
-Maybeline Line Stiletto Waterproof black mascara

On my lid, I used Nooner. I blended that up into my crease a little.
In the inner corners, I used mugshot. This is one of my favorite colors in the palette.
In my crease I used Darkside, which is actually really dark in person (It doesn't look very dark in the picture).

Yes, it does come with a double-sided brush, which i do tend to use to apply just the lid color and some color on my lower lash line, but if you do not have a blending brush, you are going to be screwed. I have been using the Sigma Tapered Blending E40 brush, and it has saved my life. Nothing looks worse than eyeshadow that isn't blended.

I finished off the look by adding a little bit of Darkside & Mugshot on my lower lash line, and adding a thick black cat-eye with my liquid liner, and a thick layer of mascara.

Let me know what you guys think!
